Hey guys, Tadashi here and today I'll be talking about the 12th episode of Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru which gives us the conclusion of the Cultural Festival.
Sagami is missing and they have to wrap up the festival with the closing ceremony where she was supposed to read off the winners. They were running out of time so Yukino asked the one person she didn't want to for a favor.
She gladly accepted and told Yukino that she had grown but she replied that she had always been that way which brought a smile to mine, and Hachiman's, face. Good for her! The method they used to buy time was performing on stage as a band with Hiratsuka-sensei, the president, Yukino herself and Yui.
The song was great, but the animation for the actually song was terrible. It was them moving up and down the whole time while recycling scenes. Even their faces seemed really off.
While they were performing, Hikky was sent off to find Sagami. He ended up finding her on the roof and tried to convince her to come back but it had no effect. Hayama came in and ended up saying really nice comforting things in order to bring her back but Hikky knew that he had to stay true to himself and do it his way. His way, was being harsh yet saying the truth. Hayama didn't like his approach at all.

In the end, Sagami came back and announced the winners (although she basically choked again). Hikky become the bad guy and everyone around the school knew about what happened. People gave him looks and really, the only people that stuck with him were his true friends Yui and Yukino.
What surprised me was Hiratsuka-sensei consoling Hikky. For the first time, she seemed like an adult figure - a mother figure - telling Hikky that he shouldn't hurt himself.
"Hikigaya, saving someone isn't an excuse to hurt yourself. Even if you're used to the pain. You should realize that there are people whose hearts break each time they see you hurt yourself."
My heart ached when she said this to him because that's entirely true. He always plays the bad guy and says he's used to it so it doesn't affect him but what about Yukino and Yui? It's only a matter of time before he realizes it. But maybe that's what makes his character so good. He isn't afraid to do these things.
In the end, it was just these 3 left. Everyone else went to the after-party but Yukino and Hikky didn't want to go. It wasn't their scene. Yui showed up and said she'd wait until they're finished. It was a pretty nice scene.
I actually enjoyed this episode. How will things be like for Hikky now? He only said what everyone was thinking. Other's just didn't want to get involved. Hayama did it because he's the nice guy and those 2 girls are her friends but what about everyone else? Also, I'm still waiting for Yukino's story >_>
It doesn't look like we'll get it though. The next episode is a side story so this is likely the last episode. I'll post my scores next episode.
That's it for me though! I'll leave you guys with a pic of BL girl having a nosebleed. Hehe.
