Review
As a big IS fan, I can say I'm thoroughly disappointed with this series as a whole, and the ending. The ending was too rushed, with everything happening just like that. There was also some unnecessary "drama" like when Ichika got shot, and then kinda just came back and no one really said anything. It didn't even feel like an ending, especially with the way they finished it off in the onsen.
The episode did however reveal some interesting things:
When Ichika was in his dream realm, he called out to his Byakushiki for more power, and this white haired girl answered to his call while holding his hand. Who is this girl? Is she the personification of Byakushiki or is she someone else? Maybe someone super important.
Then there was the girl beside Tabane at the end. So she's in cahoots with Tabane, and knows her plans. But who is she? Another genius who is in the same league as Tabane?
Overall, it's not like I was surprised by how little the plot advanced with this series. But I was kind of hoping it would surprise me and become a really really good show. IS is all about the girls and fanservice - the creators and the fans know that - but even the girls weren't enough to leave me satisfied.
The animation was more or less the same as the first season (which wasn't even that good to begin with). With a couple years to make this season, you'd think they would step it up a little bit but nope. Even some of the scenery was bland and out of place.
The OSTs used this season weren't memorable at all. The OP and ED weren't as appealing as the first season, and actually weren't appealing at all. The inserts sometimes didn't add on to the emotional aspect of the corresponding scenes either.
I've already said, but the plot hardly moved forward. Too much PLOT (not that I'm complaining) over the actual plot. I would't complain if they managed to blend the two together in a way that flowed but they just couldn't pull it off.
And of course, the characters - the seemingly silver lining of this show. They literally carried this show but even then they could have done so much more. Charlotte still remains my number one though<3 I did find myself a new favorite girl, Tatenashi, amidst everything.
