Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren Episode 11 - The Dark Flame Dragon

The struggles within Satone continue but Rikka is having the worst of it. As the Dark Flame Dragon is finally summoned, things finally come to light as to why Rikka had been doing what she was doing.

Oh man what a way to conclude this situation. I'll be honest, the resolution we were given was surprisingly bland. Satone fought the newly awakened Dark Flame Dragon, beating it and with it whatever feelings she still had (supposedly). Rikka went through all this trouble because of Yuuta's prophecy. Everything really just felt meh. Sure, things led up to it quite nicely, and last episode was awesome, but this episode was okay. The drama felt out of place and maybe it's because we're used to the lightheartedness that things didn't feel right. It still hurt seeing Satone because she was stuck between a rock and a hard place. There's nothing that can help her but time. It still breaks my heart just thinking about her situation.

If there was a bright spot, it would be Nibutani. She's really grown as someone who tries takes on that "motherly" role (but it's behind the violent tsun). Like Kumin said, she loves everyone with chuunibyou and although she shows it in a rough way, she cares. She tries to help when she can and it really makes me love her more (by the way she looked fantastic this episode!!).

Basically, it was an underwhelming conclusion. But the ending...maybe I'm looking into it too much, but she said bye-bye which are "parting words". PARTING WORDS. Is she going to disappear again? Or was she saying bye-bye to her feelings? I'm not sure, but next episode will hopefully bring things back to standard. I'm still all for Satone but unfortunately, things don't work like we want them too.

Next week will conclude this mediocre second season. I hope it's a good final episode full of the moments we've come to love this show for.
