Shingeki no Kyojin Episode 13 - Trost Is Recaptured, Eren and Levi?!

Hey guys! Tadashi here and today I'll be talking about the 13th episode of Shingeki no Kyojin which concludes the recapturing of Trost.

The episode was a really great one. First off, I wanted to say the insert song that played during the epic moments around tossing the rock was insane! It fit in so perfectly and made the scenes 10x more exciting. Good choice of a song!

Now for the juicy part. Eren regained himself thanks to what Armin did and began to move the giant boulder in order to block the hole. Mikasa was super happy that he's actually doing what he set out to do (probably thinking that he won't get ridiculed as much anymore) and her happy face gives me a happy face (^_^)

The threat of the titans didn't just disappear. Now everyone had to do their part in protecting Eren as he moved to the hole. Mikasa again went beast mode and megane-girl turns out to be pretty skilled herself. Many died though and we're reminded that these titans are indeed gruesome.

The music, like I said, was perfect. The climax of the song up to the point where it went almost silent and all you could hear was Armin screaming "Go, Eren!" and BAM he slammed the boulder down. It truly was an epic moment of this show and showcased how dire this situation really was.

Although they closed the hole, they were still surrounded by titans and Eren in his titan form was useless so they had to pull Eren out in order to rescue him. Just as they were about to get attacked, Captain Levi swoops in and eliminates the titans and saves them.

They capture Eren and try in interrogate him. They asked what are his motives and he answers with 'killing as many titans as he can' which piqued Levi's interest so he decided to take responsibility for Eren as he trains him to join the Recon Corps. It'll be interesting to see how he handles Eren. Let's hope he makes him a man.

And that concluded the retaking of Trost. Not a bad episode, but they did drag it out more than it needed with the previous 2 episodes.

Next week is a recap episode (episode 13.5) so I will not be covering that. I'll resume with episode 14.

Anyways, see you then!
