Hataraku Maou-sama! Episode 1 - Amazing First Episode

Yo! It's Tadashi here and I'm going to be talking about the first episode of Hataraku Maou-sama! It delivered an amazing overall episode that I think does the manga justice...so far.

We start off in the demon realm with the classic Hero vs Demon Lord battle and it was animated a lot better than I thought it would be. In the manga, you don't see the fight if I recall.

In the demon world Maou was the all powerful Demon Lord but they were overrun by the humans fighting back and ended up retreating into our world, Earth. More specifically, Tokyo.

Considering they don't speak Japanese and are wearing robes that make them look crazy, it makes the whole situation 10x funnier. As soon as they arrived they were noticed by police and looked like foreigners.

Ashiya still thinks he can use magic....
It was super funny watching them struggle in the human world and come to terms with that fact that they are now humans and have nothing to their name. Good thing the Maou kept some of his magic and managed to find out what they need to survive.

Filling out job applications is hard, especially when they cost money they don't have
They ended up having to get ID, open a bank account, find a place to stay and more importantly, a source of income. Their home turned out to be a single room apartment and their reactions were priceless especially when it came to their landlord.

The show had an excellent transition from complete foreigners to them becoming an average citizen.
Maou ended up working at McRonalds and his plan? To conquer the world by climbing the chain starting as a restaurant part-time employee. Brilliant, right? Right.

The ending scene was a nice turn of events too.

Yes, this is the hero Emi who was the one that drove Maou into the human world. One can only wonder what's going to happen next and I assure you...it's probably what you think considering this is a romance show as well.

In conclusion, Hataraku Maou-sama! delivered an amazing first episode that really brought out the characters, setting, and plot. I am really looking forward to covering this show weekly.
